Florida Secretary of State Cord Byrd told Newsmax on Monday that Florida counts its votes quickly, allowing state results to be known on election night.

Byrd said over 8 million Floridians have voted in the election, with early voting increasing by 1 million voters from 2020.

“Floridians are excited to get out, to vote, and the state’s ready for tomorrow,” Byrd said on “National Report.” “There’s a lot of enthusiasm in this election. And we do anticipate in certain places around the state that there will be lines. We ask everyone to be patient. And as long as a voter is in line at 7 p.m., they will be allowed to cast the ballot.”
